2023 Race Recap

The 2023 HOH 5k was a blizzard of fun! We had an incredible number of racers (346!), an incredible number of volunteers (over 125!), and an incredible number of inflatable snowmen (14?)!

With some memorable upsets (namely, Holland Heights Church stealing the most participants trophy from 12-time defending champ, Calvary on 8th!), free snowballs, popsicles at the water station, and the addition of an official dog division, this race will go down in history as the coolest 5k yet! 

We had racers from as close as across the parking lot, and as far as Pekin, Illinois, Lone Tree, Iowa, and Streatley, England, along with racers as young as 6 months old and as old as 82! And with road warriors on every corner, bearing costumes, signs, and even a PVC pipe sprinkler/balloon arch for racers to run through, the competition for the 2023 Road Warrior Trophy was tough. It came down to a tambourine in the hands of Krista Klein for the win! 

There were strollers, and dogs, and dogs in strollers. There were igloos and snow scenes, and flamingos in hats and scarves. But best of all, there was a community united in support of our awesome neighborhood and all the good that is happening here!
