Our Story
Heights of Hope was formed in 2003 out of the desire from neighboring churches to partner together in order to serve our community more effectively and address the growing needs in Holland Heights.
Our partner churches are Calvary Reformed, Niekerk Christian Reformed and Holland Heights Christian Reformed. The churches along with local businesses and residents are committed to working with Heights of Hope as we dedicate our ministry to empowering people of all walks of life, loving our neighbors and working for positive change in the lives of individuals, families and the community of Holland Heights.
Through intentional commitment to our community, we believe Christ centered change can and will happen and we invite you to come be a part of it.

What We are Doing
COMMUNITY WORK
We believe that individual and community transformation happens when citizens come together and realize that they have the power and ability to make changes. Our guiding philosophy is Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) which means that we focus on people's gifts, rather than needs, and encourage them to use their skills. Our community workers intentionally focus their efforts in the Abbey Court and Stratford Way neighborhood.
EDUCATION
We believe that education plays a vital role in transformation and offer several educational opportunities such as GED, ESL and various workshops to address community concerns.
FOOD PANTRY
We understand that often times before change can take place, basic needs must be met first. The volunteers at the Eastside Food Pantry are committed to providing food assistance and building relationships of encouragement and hope. |
