Your registration fee supports the work of Heights of Hope in our community. Thank you!

  • Individual 5K and 1.5 mile registrations are $25 until July 31 or $30 starting August 1.

  • Receive a $5 discount per person for groups or families of 5 or more that pay together.

  • Registration for SOAR residents (must live on Stratford, Oxford, Abbey Ct, Country Ln)-$5

Both the 5k and 1.5 mile routes begin and end at Calvary Church (995 E 8th Street in the heart of Holland Heights) and wind through the Abbey Court/Stratford Way neighborhood and past the Heights of Hope Community Center. Due to our morning and evening format this year, roads will NOT be closed for our 8:30am racers, so morning participants will need to yield to traffic and children MUST be accompanied by an adult on the route. See route maps below.

Virtual Race Instructions:

Fill out the registration form and run or walk YOUR OWN 5k or 1.5 mile route, anywhere in the world between August 11-14. You can pick up your t-shirt and packet at packet pick up or on race day, or request it be shipped or dropped off to you. (There may be additional charges for shipping/drop-off.) Time yourself using the good old fashioned honor system and fill out our Finish Line Form with your time and a finish-line photo by 6pm on August 14 to be included in our awards and raffles.

This race couldn't happen without over 100 dedicated volunteers who ensure things run smoothly and make it an awesome experience for our racers! But we work to make sure our volunteers also have a great time. Morning volunteers receive iced coffee from Biggby and afternoon volunteers receive a pulled pork sandwich dinner from Earl's Meats. Volunteers are also registered in our raffle and count towards team totals for awards. This year, racers can double their chances to win raffles by volunteering at the session they're not racing! Volunteers may request a race t-shirt for $5.

Covid Safety:

We are committed to following CDC guidelines for Covid safety and will change the race format if needed to keep participants and neighbors safe.

2020 Recap:

Our 2020 spread-out-in-person and virtual events were a blast. With over 150 runners and walkers, participating from nine different states, and about 100 volunteers cheering on runners and making sure almost no one got lost, it was a powerfully positive event in the midst of a wild year of shut down and isolation.

There were the traditional door prizes (so many door prizes!), and medals, and ribbons, and food. You can find race results here and photos of the day here. But ten years also called for some extra celebration and extra acknowledgement. 10 Claps to the winners of our special 10-year tin foil prizes:

  • 10th Overall Finisher: Benjamin Haak

  • Oldest HOH 5K Shirt: Graham Dykuis (wearing a size youth M shirt from 2011!)

  • Loudest Road Warriors: Todd Sneller and Secqunda Grigsby

  • Fastest 5K Dog: Lindy Lam

  • Oldest Team: Team Pops and Corn (Marcia and Jerry Hahnfeld)

  • Virtual Race Route That Most Resembled A Virus: Corey Forbes

  • Race Grandma Award: Marlene Bullers

  • Create-Your-Own-Route-Award: The Nyhoff, VanRaalte, and Muller kids

  • Jam Master: Keith Workman (for his amazing speaker set up at the Community Center)

  • Best Dressed Road Warriors: The Foreman Family

But best of all, participants got to experience the beautiful neighborhood we call home everyday. We hope you'll join us for this year's race!
