Community Development Worker - Tracey Forbes, began with Heights of Hope over two years ago when the first Americorps position was made available. After two years of Americorps, Tracey decided she loves what she does so much that she accepted a full time community worker position with Heights of Hope. Tracey now oversees the two Americorps volunteers as well as community programming. Tracey can't imagine what life would be like without her "family" on Stratford Way and Abbey Court and she loves being a part of the change.
Americorps Volunteer--Lisa Hoogerwerf, a graduate of Hope College, and an RN, began as an Americorps Volunteer in February 2008, through a grant with CRWRC. She also helps coordinate the Eastside Food Pantry. She has worked as a nurse in the prison system for the last year. She is an artist, a mentor, a friend, and a great listener. She loves hanging out with neighborhood kids, reading, and spending time with her friends, family, and her dog Sadie. She hopes that through her time working with Heights of Hope and Americorps she can learn how to better serve people in her community.
Americorps Volunteer--Ron Alberts, joined the Heights of Hope team as an Americorps volunteer in November 2007. He has lived in Holland for almost 30 years and has a wife, Jane and 3 grown children.
